Nancy Cannon, OTR, CHT

Nancy Cannon has worked at the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center for the past 40 years and served as director of therapy for 37 of those years. Throughout her career, Nancy has served as president of the American Society of Hand Therapists, chairman of the American Hand Therapy Foundation and vice-president of the Hand Therapy Certification Commission. She has been honored with the ASHT Lifetime Achievement award and the Nathalie Barr lectureship award. Nancy is particularly proud of her past work with AOTA and the ASHT task force and CMS on orthotic coding and billing. She serves as the founding editor and co-author of the Diagnosis and Treatment Manual for Physicians and Therapists. The 5th edition was published earlier this year. She thoroughly enjoys medical education and teaching. She established the national hand therapy meeting “Hand Care” in 1984; a meeting held each two years since its inception. To this day, Nancy remains passionate about hand therapy. She thoroughly enjoys direct patient care, the opportunity to work with an outstanding group of therapists and surgeons, and to network with amazing hand therapists and hand surgeons around the country.
