Marsha Lawrence, PT, DPT, CHT

Marsha Lawrence BS, PT, CHT received her BS in PT in 1978 from the University of Illinois. She became a CHT in 1991. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including the University of Chicago, Curtis National Hand Center, University of Massachusetts, Duke University, private practice and most recently, University of Iowa Health Care. She has specialized in burn rehabilitation, upper extremity rehabilitation and Pilates and completed her Pilates certification through Polestar in 2011. She earned her DPT in 2017 from Arcadia University. She is a member of ASHT and served on the BOD in a variety of roles including Legislation and Reimbursement Division Director, Practice Director and BMAL. She has been a member of APTA since 1977 and serves as the payment and practice chair of the Hand Academy and also the serves as the Academy’s FAL. She is a member of AHTF’s Board of Directors and was recently appointed to APTA’s Public Policy and Advocacy Committee. She has co-authored the JOSPT’s clinical practice guideline on Hand Pain and Sensory Deficits and “Nerve Entrapments at the Wrist” in the most recent edition of Rehabilitation of the Hand and Upper Extremity.
